Assam: New Govt to be formed after 11th May, ceremony tentatively set for May 12: PM Modi Invited for oath-taking ceremony

Digital Desk: The swearing-in ceremony for Assam's next Chief Minister is expected to take place after May 11, with May 12 being the most likely date, says outgoing Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on April 6.

Sarma has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the event, which is subject to Modi's availability after May 11. A new administration was formed when Sarma tendered his resignation in response to the NDA's impressive showing in the Assam Assembly elections.

Sarma stated that the new Chief Minister will be responsible for determining the membership of the Council of Ministers, emphasizing the importance of internal deliberations within the ruling alliance before making any formal announcements.

With the BJP-led coalition having won a clear majority, the focus has switched to identifying leadership posts and cabinet composition in preparation for the expected swearing-in ceremony the following week.
