BTC Elections 2025: Assam Congress announces 31 candidates' list

 

Digital Desk: The Assam Congress has announced candidates for 31 of the 40 constituencies in the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections on September 22.

The party posted the list late on August 30th, including nominees for several constituencies within the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

Ranchana Basumatary, Rananjay Narzary, Kwrwm Mushahry, Sahar Ali, Dwimu Roje, Matilal Basumatary, Sunil Narzary, Rajib Basumatary, Enos Iswary, Amoiyo Narzary, Agostin Narzary, Abhinash Brahma, Safiur Rahman, Buddhadev Phadangary, Jagadish Madahi, Bubul Das, and Dharmeswar Baro are among the candidates.

The BTC is presently led by the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL), which is seeking a second term in office. The Bodoland People's Front (BPF) is running for re-election following a one-term hiatus.

The BJP is also running its own campaign, hoping to form a government for the first time in the municipal region. The deadline for submitting nominations is September 2, and candidates may withdraw their submissions until September 6.

The election for 40 BTC constituencies will take place on September 22, with results announced on September 26. Reelection in any constituency will take place on September 24. The overall number of voters in constituencies is 26,57,937, including 13,23,399 males, 13,34,521 women, and 17 others, with polling taking place at 3,359 stations.
