CAG report uproar in Delhi Assembly; Atishi, 11 AAP MLAs suspended

Digital Desk: A major uproar was generated during an assembly session in Delhi, Due to the controversy surrounding the tabling of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) report on the now-scrapped liquor policy, at least 12 members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), including former Delhi CM Atishi, have been suspended for the day from the Assembly session.

The House was addressed by Lt. Governor VK Saxena as the day's session began. However, AAP lawmakers interrupted his speech by using loud sloganeering against the BJP government.

The MLAs persisted in interrupting the Lt Governor's remarks despite Speaker Vijender Gupta's repeated pleas for them to maintain composure. The Speaker consequently suspended the lawmakers for the day.

Atishi claimed that the BJP had disregarded BR Ambedkar by taking his picture out of the Chief Minister's office while the MLAs staged a sit-in at the Assembly grounds after being suspended.

The Leader of the Opposition further stated, "We will continue to demonstrate until the portrait of Dr. BR Ambedkar is replaced."
