Cabinet Expansion: BJP adds seven ministers to Nitish Kumar's party in Bihar
Digital Desk: The Bihar cabinet expanded today, with seven ministers taking oath and being inducted into the government. The extension is significant since the state will go to the polls later this year.
Seven MLAs have joined Nitish Kumar's Cabinet: Sanjay Saraogi (Darbhanga), Sunil Kumar (Biharsharif), Jibesh Kumar (Jale), Rahu Kumar Singh (Sahebganj), Moti Lal Prasad (Riga), Vijay Kumar Mandal (Sikti), and Krishan Kumar Mantoo (Amnour).
The expansion comes two days before the Bihar Budget Session, which begins on Friday.
Union Minister JP Nadda and Nitish Kumar met to discuss Cabinet enlargement in Bihar, which will only take place when the central party leadership approves a list of suitable ministers.
Currently, many BJP ministers in Bihar lead multiple departments, including Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, state ministers Mangal Pandey and Nitish Mishra, and two new JD(U) ministers and two from the Rajput and Bhumihar tribes.
