Delhi Set For First-Ever Artificial Rain: Cloud Seeding Scheduled
Digital Desk: In a historic move to fight rising pollution and dry conditions, Delhi is all set to witness its first-ever artificial rain through cloud seeding between July 4 and July 11.
The project is led by the Indian Institute Of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and supported by the Delhi Government.
Artificial rain, which is a customized mix will be released into the sky via a specific flare system. This mixture, produced by IIT Kanpur, combines silver iodide nanoparticles, iodized salt, and rock salt. Together, these components contribute to the speed of the formation of raindrops in moisture-laden clouds, allowing for artificial rainfall.
