Digital Desk: Actor Diljit Dosanjh's next movie, "Sardaar Ji 3," which stars Hania Aamir from Pakistan, will only be released overseas.
The decision comes amid In light of tensions between India and Pakistan, the movie will not be shown in India. Diljit revealed the movie's trailer and release date on social media on Sunday.
Diljit posted the trailer along with the caption, "Sardaar Ji 3 Releasing 27th June OVERSEAS Only/ FADH LAO BHOOND DIAN LATTAN (sic)," on his official Instagram page. Due to the film industry's ban on Pakistani actors following the horrific Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor, the movie will not be released in the country.
The YouTube URL for the 'Sardaar Ji 3' trailer has been geo-blocked in India. "The uploader has not made this video available in your country," stated the notification on the platform. However, the trailer and songs are available for viewing in India.
Notably, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has filed an objection, seeking that the Central Board of Picture Certification (CBFC) refuse certification of the picture. The objection centered on the film's casting of Pakistani actors such as Hania Aamir, Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar, and Saleem Albela.
Sardaar Ji 3 is a horror comedy starring Diljit Dosanjh, Hania Aamir, and Neeru Bajwa. The teaser features Hania as a ghost hunter who, together with Diljit, is tasked with eradicating a spirit from a mansion in the United Kingdom.
The Punjabi comedy film was set to hit theaters worldwide on June 27.
