Forced Marriage Proposal; Gang raped after denying- horrific narration by South Calcutta law student victim

Digital Desk: A horrific incident took place at South Calcutta Law College, a 24-year-old South Calcutta Law College student reported being gang-raped by three men after rejecting their marriage proposal, according to a detailed complaint copy obtained by India Today.

The woman claimed in her complaint that the primary accused pressed her to marry him, but she refused, citing an existing relationship. She claimed that he then threatened to hurt her boyfriend and accuse her parents in phony cases before detaining her inside the college and attacking her, leaving her injured despite her protests.

In her complaint, she described the sequence of events: "They tried to force me to have sex."

The victim recounts her experience of being raped by the main accused, describing her struggle to leave the room and the forceful rape she endured. She was taken to the guard room, undressed, and raped again. The woman experienced a panic attack and shortness of breath but received no help. She asked for help at the hospital but was denied. The college's main gate was locked, and the guard was helpless and unhelpful. The victim's unheard cry highlights the helplessness of sexual assault and the need for support.

The victim was forced raped by the main accused, who refused to let her go despite begging and touching his feet. The assault was filmed and the victim was blackmailed into silence. The accused threatened to show the videos to everyone if she didn't cooperate. The victim was also hit with a hockey stick when she tried to leave. She was eventually allowed to leave the premises, but only under the threat of further harm.

Furthermore, she (victim) in her complaint also demanded to get justice for this heinous crime.

According to sources, the 24-year-old survivor appeared at the college around 12 p.m. on Wednesday to complete examination-related paperwork, before the completion of the paperwork she was sitting in the college union room.

According to the accusations, the charged individual thereafter ordered that the main college gate be locked. The woman said she was then raped inside the security guard's room on campus.

Following the filing of an FIR at the Kasba Police Station, three people were arrested in connection with the incident. Monojit Mishra (31), a former student, is the general secretary of the Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad's (TMCP) South Kolkata district unit. The other two accused are Zaib Ahmed, a first-year student, and Pramit Mukherjee aka Pramit Mukhopadhyay, a current student.
