Gaurav Gogoi slams JP Nadda's judiciary stance, says, "BJP turning India into North Korea-Iraq"

Digital Desk: In response to BJP President JP Nadda's recent remarks defending the party's stance on the judiciary, Assam Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has voiced concern.

He claimed that the ultimate goal of the RSS-BJP is to turn India into a country like Iraq or North Korea.

Accusing the BJP ecosystem, especially those close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, of deliberately attempting to weaken the judiciary, Gogoi questioned Nadda's claim that the BJP disapproves of comments made by party MPs Nishikant Dubey and Dinesh Sharma about the Chief Justice of India.

Gogoi argued that the BJP's dissatisfaction with previous Supreme Court verdicts, such as those involving Tamil Nadu and the Waqf Amendment Act, looked to be part of a larger effort to destroy the judiciary's image.

While Nadda distanced the BJP from Dubey and Sharma's inflammatory remarks, calling them personal and not representative of the party's views, Gogoi remained unconvinced.

He highlighted that the BJP's rhetoric against the judiciary was not an isolated episode, but rather part of a wider, continuing narrative that called into question the government's commitment to the Constitution.

Nadda, on his official X account, posted-

He went on to say that the saffron party has always respected the judiciary, wholeheartedly accepting their orders and suggestions, "because as a party, we believe that the Supreme Court, along with all courts in the country, is an integral part of our democracy and a strong pillar for the protection of the Constitution."
