Government announces Sharad Agarwal as the new Mizoram DGP
Digital Desk: Sharad Agarwal, a 1997-batch IPS officer from the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, has been assigned as the new Mizoram DGP, as stated by officials.
He succeeds Anil Shukla, a 1996-batch IPS officer who was posted to Delhi.
The Ministry of Home Affairs announced appointment and transfer orders for Agarwal and Shukla on Monday.
Agarwal is currently the special commissioner of the Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing.
Pursuant to the selection, incumbent Shukla would relocate to Delhi, albeit his job assignment is not determined yet.
Shukla was appointed DGP in June 2023, succeeding Devesh Chandra Srivastava, an IPS officer from the 1995 batch.
