Digital Desk: On Saturday, a helicopter on its way to Kedarnath made an emergency landing on the highway in Rudraprayag district due to a technical glitch during takeoff. However, everyone pilgrims on board, including the pilot, are safe.

The chopper took off from Badasu base for Kedarnath and made an emergency landing on the highway near Sirsi due to a technical issue during takeoff. Six passengers on board the helicopter, including the pilot, made a tight escape.

According to PTI, the pilot got minor injuries and was brought to the hospital for treatment.

Videos on social media showed the Kestrel Aviation helicopter standing in the middle of the highway, dangerously close to occupied buildings, and damaging a car with its tail rotor.

Rahul Chaubey, Rudraprayag's District Tourism Development Officer and Heli Service Nodal Officer, indicated that the incident had no impact on the Himalayan temple's heli shuttle service.
