NIA prepares for arrest at Palam of 26/11 attack accused Tahawwur Rana

Digital Desk: Tahawwur Rana, a Pakistani-born Canadian national and close acquaintance of one of the primary conspirators in the November 26, 2008, Mumbai terror attacks, David Coleman Headley alias Daood Gilani, a US citizen.

Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the mastermind of the Mumbai terror attacks, has landed in India on a chartered flight after the US Supreme Court denied his extradition request. A multi-agency team had traveled to the United States to bring him back.

Notably, the plane will be landing in Delhi shortly. According to social media images, an ambulance and some security cars arrived at Palam Airport before Tahawwur Rana's flight landed.

On November 26, 2008, a group of ten Pakistan-sponsored Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists launched a coordinated attack on Mumbai's CST train station, two luxury hotels, and a Jewish center after sneaking into India's financial hub via the Arabian Sea.

Up to 166 people were killed in the nearly 60-hour assault, which sent shockwaves across the country and drew India and Pakistan to the verge of war.

It is to be noted that once Tahawwur Rana's plane lands at Delhi's Palam airport, the NIA will arrest him for the 26/11 attacks.

Furthermore, calling the extradition of 26/11 Mumbai assault suspect Tahawwur Rana a "big day," Eknath Omble, the brother of Ashok Chakra awardee and 26/11 hero Tukaram Omble, urged the national government on Thursday to hang Tahawwur Rana.
