Over 786 Pak Nationals reported exiting India Via Attari-Wagah Border after terror attack at Pahalgam

Digital Desk: In a major update, reports from a senior official say up to 786 Pakistani people have left India through the Attari-Wagah border point in six days beginning April 24 after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack.

The official stated that at the same time, 1376 Indians had returned from Pakistan via the Attari-Wagah border

The government ordered on April 24 that Pakistani nationals should leave India by April 27, with medical visa holders having until April 29 to do so.

Those holding diplomatic, official, or long-term visas were exempt from the 'Leave India' warning. The deadline for Pakistanis with any of the 12 types of short-term visas expired on Sunday.

The government strongly recommended that Indian nationals avoid visiting Pakistan. Indian nationals who are currently in Pakistan should return to India as soon as possible.

"There is no direct flight to Pakistan; therefore, many have departed via Dubai or other ways. We expect more Pakistani nationals to leave the country," added the official.

A significant verification drive is currently underway in all states, in close collaboration with central intelligence agencies.

Following another officer's statement, who is actively monitoring the issue, Pakistani nationals would face strict action, and their presence in India will be declared unlawful if they continue after April 29.
