Rahul Gandhi Gets Summoned by Lucknow Court over Alleged Defamatory Remarks Against Army

Digital Desk: A Lucknow court has summoned Rahul Gandhi to testify on March 24 in connection with alleged derogatory remarks against the army made during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in December 2022.

Earlier, lawyer Vivek Tiwari filed a defamation complaint against Gandhi on behalf of Uday Shankar Srivastava, former director of the Border Roads Organisation, a post similar to that of a colonel in the army.

Apparently, as stated by the lawyer, Gandhi addressed his alleged insulting remarks on December 16, 2022, during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

While speaking with reporters, he made an offensive comment about the conflict between the Indian and Chinese forces on December 9, 2022.

According to the lawyer, the complaint alleges that Gandhi's words were disparaging and defamed the Indian Army.
