Sohra Killing Case Proceeds Forward As SIT Uncovers Key Clue

Digital Desk: In a significant breakthrough, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the shocking Sohra killing has recovered key evidence that could bring them closer to cracking the case. The raid led to the seizure of gold jewelry, laptops belonging to Raja and his wife Sonam, and other incriminating evidence.

"The electronic devices and documents seized hold significant evidentiary value and may shed further light on the May 23 murder case involving Sonam Raghuvanshi and her lover Raj Kushwaha," Vivek Syiem, stated. Sub-inspectors Anthony Khongsit and Karan Pachua headed the SIT squad, which was assisted by officials from the Alkapuri Police Station, during the well-coordinated operation.

On May 22, the couple rented a scooter from Keatinge Road in Indore and headed towards Sohra. They left their belongings and walked down 3,000 steps to Nongriat, where they slept overnight due to the unavailability of rooms. The following morning, they were followed by three Indore-based individuals, who were eventually known to Sonam.

A tourist guide and Instagram user observed and recorded the gang, and footage circulated online right after they were arrested. Raja was viciously attacked with two machetes, and his body was discarded in a gorge. The three assailants and Sonam then fled the scene, Syiem confirmed.

As investigation connects dots, the chilling puzzle of the Sohra murder may soon unravel.
