Tragic! Prayagraj Accident: Maha Kumbh devotee's car crashes after colliding with bus; 10 killed and 19 injured-Reports
Digital Desk: In a tragic turn of incidents at around midnight on Friday, a vehicle carrying devotees to Maha Kumbh from Chhattisgarh crashed with a bus on the Prayagraj-Mirzapur route in Uttar Pradesh, killing at least 10 people and injuring 19.
DCP Yamunanagar Vivek Chandra Yadav stated that the remains had been transported to Swaroop Rani Nehru Medical Hospital for post-mortem and that additional processes were being carried out.
As per reports, the incident took place before 2 a.m. when a Bolero vehicle collided with a bus on the Mirzapur-Prayagraj highway near the Meja police station in Prayagraj.
The devotees declared dead now were on their way from Chhattisgarh's Korba to take a sacred bath at the Sangam during the Kumbh festival. The bus involved in the tragedy was apparently bringing devotees from Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh.
The collision is believed to have occurred when the Bolero driver drifted to sleep and lost control of the car.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took heed of the incident and directed authorities to get to the scene and expedite relief efforts. He also urged officials to guarantee that the injured received adequate medical attention.
