ENG vs IND: All-Rounder Ravindra Jadeja Unique Indian Record at Tests at Old Trafford

Digital Desk: Ravindra Jadeja, Team India's top all-rounder, adds another feather to his storied Test career on the final day of the ongoing fourth Test in the five-match series against England at Old Trafford in Manchester on Sunday, July 28.

Ravindra Jadeja has been in good form in the ongoing Test series against England, scoring fifty in four consecutive innings at Lord's and Edgbaston before his run came to an end at Old Trafford when he was removed for 20 in the first innings.

However, the experienced all-rounder quickly regained his form, particularly as India sought to avoid defeat.

Ravindra Jadeja is a star all-rounder who has set a rare Indian record in an away series in Test cricket history. He continues to excel with the bat and fills in for Team India when his team needs him most.

Following Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja is now the seventh Indian batter to reach 1000 Test runs in England with his fifty. But the all-round player set a unique record that had only been surpassed by two other players.

Jadeja became the first player from India to reach 1000 runs and take 30 wickets while playing abroad. In addition to reaching 1000 runs, the all-rounder has taken 34 wickets in England's Test matches.

Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja took over at the crease to continue India's innings after Gill was dismissed. With Jadeja and Sundar scoring 57 and 53 runs, respectively, Team India reached 322/4 during tea and took an 11-run lead.
