Glenn Maxwell announces retirement from ODI cricket
Digital Desk: With the World Cup set for 2026, star Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell announced his decision to retire from ODIs in order to concentrate on T20Is.
Maxwell last competed in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which Australia lost in the semifinals.
He made 149 appearances in the 50-over format before retiring, amassing 3990 runs at an average of 33.81, including four hundreds and 23 fifties.
The 36-year-old has decided to put his preparation for the Big Bash League, the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, and his other international obligations first.
