Virat Kohli Gets heartfelt Tribute In Bengaluru; fans seen garbed in test cricket jerseys at M Chinnaswamy

Digital Desk: Rain spoiled Saturday's Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs.Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) match at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium, making the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season not exactly optimal.

After Virat Kohli's surprise retirement from Test cricket, local fans arrived at the site ready to pay him the respect he so richly earned.

Many of the spectators at the site came in white, wearing Virat's No. 18 Test jersey as a tribute to the legendary India and RCB batsman, abandoning the RCB jersey while doing so. Even though the weather gods had other ideas, the skeptic stitched a lovely picture at the location.

Moreover, what added to the beauty was the nature way of bestowing him the respect he earned, "A flock of white pigeons was also flown over the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru."

It was a spontaneous outburst of appreciation for a player who elevated Test cricket to the public consciousness and was its most compelling champion.

As early as 4:30 p.m., fans lined up outside the stadium in white, brandishing placards and donning a white jersey with the legendary No. 18 stamped on the back, indicating that Kohli had the day.

They hoped to catch a glimpse of Kohli, who usually sits in the front row of the team van, and exchange a quick wave.
