Manipur: Mortal remains of Air India crash victim to arrive today at Dimapur Airport today; solemn ceremony to be held after arrival
Digital Desk: The lifeless remains of Lamnunthem Singson, a victim of the recent Air India tragedy, were flown to Dimapur Airport by family members and community representatives from Kangpokpi early on Thursday, June 19.
Around 5:00 a.m., Singson's family, close relatives, and local civil society leaders were part of the first convoy, which comprised five vehicles.
At 7:30 a.m., a second, bigger convoy of about ten cars arrived, led by representatives of the Sadar Hills Private Schools' Association (SHIPS) and the Kuki Students' Organization Sadar Hills (KSO-SH).
The body of the deceased was transported from Ahmedabad at approximately 8:00 a.m. and is anticipated to reach Dimapur Airport at approximately 1:45 p.m., accompanied by two older brothers and a cousin.
Furthermore, the Kuki Union Dimapur coordinates, a condolence service which is scheduled to take place at the Dimapur Airport.
The Director of the Airport Authority of India, Dimapur, as well as members of the Naga Council Dimapur, are anticipated to attend the significant event.
The entourage will return to Kangpokpi following the service. The convoy is anticipated to arrive at approximately 9:00 or 10:00 p.m. on the last leg, which is anticipated to be slow due to bad road conditions and pit stops by community members and well-wishers along the route.
