Sorrowful moment! Mortal Remains Of Air India Crew Member Nganthoi Sharma Arrive Home In Manipur

Digital Desk: Days after the fatal crash of an Ahmedabad-bound London flight, the DNA samples of 23-year-old Nganthoi Sharma Kongbrailakpam were finally matched, and Sharma's mortal remains landed at Imphal International Airport around 1:10 p.m. on Sunday.

Sharma, a cabin crew member from Manipur, died in the horrific Air India crash in Ahmedabad on June 12. She was returned to her home state on Sunday.

Her identity was officially confirmed after DNA testing revealed a match between her and her father, Kongbrailatpam Nandesh Kumar Sharma.

Her mortal remains were also carried to Thoubal, where her final rituals were performed. In a heartbreaking moment for the family, Nganthoi Sharma Kongbrailakpam's father was seen crying, a sorrowful moment for a father who has lost his beloved daughter.

Her mourning family accompanied her remains on the return journey to Imphal. Imphal International Airport officials conducted a solemn and respectful celebration to honor the young crew member.

Though the confirmation of her death was excruciating, it offered the family emotional closure as they proceeded to perform her funeral rites.
