Tribute In Tunes: Arunachal To Build Bhupen Hazarika Museum In Roing
Digital Desk: In a heartfelt tribute to the legendary musician Bhupen Hazarika, Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has announced plans to set up a dedicated Museum in Roing to honor his life and legacy.
The announcement was made during a high-level coordination meeting at the Civil Secretariat in Itanagar to prepare for the approaching birth centennial celebration of the Bard of the Brahmaputra.

As part of the centenary celebrations, a bilingual commemorative book will be released, honoring Dr. Hazarika's life, music, and vision. As per reports the celebration will not only honor his musical genius, but will also highlight the inclusive principles, cultural pride, and harmony that he represented.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein chaired the coordination meeting, which was attended by Minister of Education and Tourism P.D. Sona, MLAs Mutchu Mithi, Oken Tayeng, and Puinnyo Apum. Key authorities were also present including the Secretary (Planning) R.K. Sharma, Secretary to the Chief Minister Sadhana Deori, APLS President Y.D. Thongchi, and representatives of the Bhupen Hazarika Cultural Trust, including Secretary Manjula Hazarika and her team.
The museum seeks to honor his timeless contributions to music, literature, and the spirit of unity across varied communities in the Northeast promising to become a place where melody meets memory.
