Assam’s Tinsukia Commerce College conferred with autonomous status by UGC

Digital Desk: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted autonomous status to Assam's Tinsukia Commerce College, marking a significant milestone in the institution's academic career.

Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu stated the news on Wednesday, April 30, in a post on the social media platform X.

Pegu post read, "Congratulations to Tinsukia Commerce College on being conferred Autonomous status by the UGC, This milestone reflects academic excellence and dedication. Wishing the institution continued growth, innovation, and success.”

With the approval of autonomous status, the college will be able to develop its own curriculum, administer exams, and handle academic affairs independently while remaining linked with its parent institution.

Meanwhile, Pragjyotish College in Guwahati received a 'A' grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) earlier this year, with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.01 on a seven-point scale. The result was confirmed in an official communication to the college principal.
