Amit Shah hails Northeast’s role in national security

Digital Desk: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday underlined the Northeast’s growing importance in India’s security landscape.

Amit Shah declared that the Northeast has entered a historic phase of progress and stability over the past decade of governance.

He said that the Northeast has consistently emerged as a crucial region for India’s security.

Shah made this remark after inaugurating the Brahmaputra Wing at Raj Bhawan in Guwahati.

He credited the Centre’s policies for improving connectivity, curbing insurgency and fostering peace accords that have brought several militant groups into the democratic fold.

According to Shah, these developments have not only strengthened the security apparatus but also opened new avenues for economic growth and integration with the rest of the country.

It may be mentioned here that Amit Shah was in Guwahati on a two-day visit.
