Assam Panchayat Polls: Voting on May 2 and May 7           

Digital Desk: The Assam State Election Commission has announced the dates for the Panchayat elections in the state.

The Panchayat elections in Assam will be held in two phases – on May 2 and May 7.

In the first phase of polls on May 2, the upper Assam districts and Barak Valley region will go to polls.
The remaining constituencies will go to the polls in the second phase.

The counting of votes will be conducted on May 11.

Meanwhile, the process of filing nominations for the Panchayat polls will begin on April 03 and end on April 11.

The voting process in both phases will be held between 7:30am and 4:30pm.

Meanwhile, the model code of conduct has come into effect in Assam following the announcement of the Panchayat polling dates.
