Assam: Kaziranga National Park sees rush of tourists

Digital Desk: The Kaziranga National Park in Assam is experiencing a surge in tourist arrivals, with only about a month left before the end of the tourist season on May 15.

According to Dr. Sonali Ghosh, Director of Kaziranga National Park, the park has witnessed an impressive number of tourist arrivals in the financial year 2024-25, with a total of 406,564 tourists visiting the park.

Of these, 17,693 are foreign tourists, generating a revenue of Rs 10,90,89,389 (Rs 10 crore 90 lakh 89 thousand 389).

The Kahora forest area has become a particular hotspot for tourists, with many flocking to the central range of the park in search of easy tiger sightings.

However, Dr. Ghosh has urged tourists to explore other areas of the park, such as Bagri, Budhapahar, and Agratali, to distribute the tourist traffic more evenly and reduce the pressure on the Kahora area.
