Assam: Five cyber fraudsters arrested, linked to multi-crore credit card scam
Digital Desk: Assam, Morigaon Police in a combined operation with Mumbai Police, nabbed five senior cyber criminals on Thursday, April 17, in Morigaon's Laharighat area for their involvement in a multi-crore credit card scam targeting HSBC Bank.
Mohebbur Rahman, Azarul Islam, Iliyas Ahmed, Abu Bakkar Siddique, and Mohimuddin Ahmed were arrested following a coordinated investigation.
Morigaon police describing the operation posted the situation in an X post.
In a joint operation with Mumbai Police,arrested 5 veteran cyber fraudsters namely Mohebbur Rahman,Azarul Islam,Iliyas Ahmed,Abu Bakkar Siddique,Mohimuddin Ahmed from Laharighat area.They were involved in a multi-crore credit card scam of HSBC Bank.@assampolice @DGPAssamPolice pic.twitter.com/kLbGbJWFBm

The group is suspected of setting up a massive cybercrime campaign that used techniques to take advantage of credit card networks and embezzle enormous amounts of money.
In order to track the movement of illegal finances and find more people involved in the scam, a further investigation is currently being undertaken.
