Assam Minister Atul Bora announces Final report on Clause 6 of Assam Accord expected by August 8
Digital Desk: Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam Minister Atul Bora on Wednesday reaffirmed the state government's unwavering commitment by putting important clauses of the historic Assam Accord into effect, particularly Clause 6.
Speaking to the media after the Sub-Committee on the Implementation of the Assam Accord's sixth meeting, which was held at Janata Bhawan, Bora stated that the government is giving the Assamese people's cultural, linguistic, and social protection top priority, as the Accord stipulates.
According to Minister Bora, the Sub-Committee is on schedule to deliver its final report to the Chief Minister by August 8, 2025.
To address Clause 7 of the Assam Economic Development Agreement, the leaders of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU), including President Utpal Sarma, General Secretary Samiran Phukan, and Chief Advisor Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharjya, have proposed the establishment of a new Sub-Committee.
Minister Bora has instructed the relevant departments to make sure that related tasks are completed on time.
Top representatives from the Implementation of Assam Accord Department were also present at the meeting.
The Assam government wants to promote inclusive development, administer justice to the indigenous people, and carry out the terms of the Accord.
