Assam to name electronic city after Ratan Tata: Assam CM Sarma

Digital Desk: In a move to recognize the transformative contributions of late industrial icon Ratan Tata, the Assam government has decided to name its upcoming Electronic City in Jagiroad after him.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made the announcement on social media, highlighting Tata's "unparalleled contribution" to the Tata Group and his role as the first Assam Baibhav awardee.

The Ratan Tata Electronic City, Jagiroad, will encompass the Semiconductor and Electronics Logistics Park, including its proposed township and social infrastructure.

Ratan Tata, who passed away in October 2024 at the age of 86, was a visionary leader who transformed the Tata Group into a global entity. Under his leadership, the group acquired international brands and set new benchmarks for Indian entrepreneurship.

The naming of the Electronic City after Ratan Tata is a fitting tribute to his legacy and contributions to the state and national development.
