Bokakhat Blast Breakthrough: Prime Accused Nabbed; 6 In Custody
Digital Desk: In a breakthrough, Bokakhat Police, in collaboration with district officials, have detained the primary suspect, Ankur Das in the recent grenade attack at the CRPF camp in Panbari, Bokakhat. In a late-night operation in Dergaon, Ankur was arrested by Bokakhat police.
The grenade detonation on June 24 injured three Assam Policemen sending shockwaves across regions. Siddhartha Borbora, Sushil Bhumij, and Mintu Hazarika were taken to the Bokakhat Civil Hospital with critical injuries.
While briefing the media, the Director General of Assam Police (DGP) confirmed that the incident is still being investigated closely. However, he did not confirm whether the grenade was detonated in a vehicle by the two accused, Ankur Das and Rupjyoti Das.
As per reports, the six individuals who have been taken into custody are identified as--
Ankur Das (prime accused) from Bokakhat
Rupjyoti Das from Bokakhat
Bhavesh Kalita from Tezpur
Sanjeev Baruah from Lakhimpur
Pankaj Das and Kaku Das (brothers of Ankur)
Though arrests have been made, the case is still unfolding as authorities continue to probe deeper, leaving no room for future threats.
