Digital Desk: Dr Numal Momin, Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, welcomed the ongoing visit of Japanese Speaker Fukushiro Nukaga and his entourage to Assam, calling it a watershed moment for international cooperation and regional development.

Dr. Momin, speaking at a three-day consultative session with governors and dignitaries, stated that the visit will considerably boost India-Japan relations, particularly in the Northeast.

"This is not just a diplomatic visit—it's a symbol of cultural connection and future cooperation," he said.

During their visit, the Japanese group plans to meet with Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma as well. The agenda includes key subjects such human resource development, industrial investment, and corporate partnership.

Dr. Momin commended CM Sarma's Advantage Assam plan, saying it had captured global attention and created the groundwork for Assam's industrial growth.

"Thanks to the Chief Minister's visionary leadership, Assam is on track to become one of India's top five developed states," the politician said.

Dr. Momin emphasized the common cultural values of the Japanese people and Assam's Indigenous populations and expressed hope that more such international delegations will visit the state, fostering economic growth and cultural linkages.
