Raijor Dal chief Akhil Gogoi expelled from Assam Assembly

Digital Desk: Following accusations of corruption in the Jal Jeevan Mission concerning the water supply in Guwahati, Raijor Dal MLA Akhil Gogoi was dismissed from the Assam Legislative Assembly.

Gogoi sought a high-level investigation into the purported irregularities and accused individuals of embezzling money. Furthermore, he asserted that a minister was expelled from the House after becoming angered by his comments and resorting to a personal attack.

Referring to it as "the biggest scam under BJP rule," Gogoi demanded accountability and denounced the government's management of public funds.

Furthermore, Gogoi called for an adjournment motion to examine the matter in greater depth and requested that all appointees connected to purported irregularities in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) recruitment process be fired.

Speaking on syndicate activities in the state, he called the state's situation "alarming" and urged the government to act quickly to address it.

Gogoi also expressed concerns about the Umrangso mining catastrophe, in which 11 people remain trapped. He urged that the Assembly session be halted until the workers were rescued, as well as the dispatch of a fact-finding team to assess the situation on-site.
